Mamie E. Hoover, Pleasant Hope, died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born August 29, 1924 in Springfield, MO. She was united in marriage to Clyde E. Hoover on December 23, 1940. They had a long and fulfilling life of 71 years and 5 months of marriage. Mamie and Clyde were both saved in a brush arbor meeting in 1941. They were members of Brighton Baptist Church for 55 years where Mamie was devoted to teaching the children and contributing her service to the Lord’s work in any way she could. Mamie was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Rebecca Wilcox and two sons Ricky Ray (age 21 months) and Jerry (age 19 months). Her survivors include husband Clyde Hoover of Pleasant Hope; daughter Carol and husband Carlos Hodson of Pleasant Hope; son Larry and wife Karen Hoover of Fredericktown, MO; son Gary and wife Nancy Hoover of Wichita, KS; 7 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 28, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 29, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
