Earthie L. Dennis , 93 , Springfield, passed away on August 6, 2012 . She was born in Springfield to Frank and Inez Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emmett, two sisters: Frankie Nimmo and Helen Bear, a half brother: Ray Lane and a great-grandson Tyler Appl. She was a long-time member of Boulevard Baptist Church, where she taught children about the love of Jesus as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She retired as a "kitchen lady" at Hillcrest High School at age 85,. She greatly enjoyed her days in the kitchen, interacting with staff and students.

Earthie is survived by daughter Sandy Wingo (Gary),son Mike (Kathy), son Tom, 4 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Betty Brewer and Oma Williams both of Oklahoma, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will at 1:00 .p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home
