Connie Marie Frantsen, 59, of Springfield, MO, unexpectedly departed this life Friday, July 20, 2012, at Mercy Hospital. She was born Wednesday, April 8, 1953, in Chillicothe, MO to Bill and Evelyn (Moss) Hess. Connie found special joys in her garden and grandson. She was a loving teacher at Parkview High School, Pipkin Middle School, and the OTC community. Connie is survived by a daughter, Megan Frantsen; a son, Zac (Veronica) Frantsen; grandson Aki Frantsen; siblings Sheryl Letterman, Kathy Knight, Billie Cole, Laura Cate, and Russell Hess. A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Kings Way United Methodist Church, Springfield, with visitation from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to The Ashby-Hodge Gallery, 411 Central Methodist Square, Fayette, MO 65248 or the Leukemia Society of America, Gateway Chapter, 77 West Port Plaza, Ste. 101, Saint Louis, MO 63146-3111. “We passed the school, where children strove at recess, in the ring; we passed the fields of gazing grain, we passed the setting sun.”
