Michael John Marlin

U.S. Veteran

Michael John Marlin, age 65, of Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in his home. He was born January 15, 1947, in Springfield, MO, to Forest and Oneva (Cloud) Marlin. He was a member of the Webster Park Baptist Church. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, reloading ammunition, and target shooting, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Kay Marlin; his father, Forest Marlin; his mother and step-father, Oneva and Fred Bailey; and two sisters, Sandy and Joyce. He is survived by three children,Michelle Webb and husband Bert of Springfield, Michael Marlin Jr. of Springfield, and Matthew Marlin of Springfield; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, McKenzie, Michael III, and Mason ; one great-grandson, Jayden; his cousin and best friend, Rusty ; three sisters, Ann Nichols, Loretta McKee, and Dee Mc Cracken; and a host of family and friends.. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Rev. J.R. Gann officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the Patriot Guard. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
