Funeral services for Joseph F. Wenzel Jr. age 83 of Blue Eye, Missouri will be held at 11:30 AM, Friday, July 20, 2012 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence, Mo. with Fr. Jim Taranto officiating burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.

He died on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at his home in Blue Eye, Mo.

He was born on September 26, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Joseph F. and Marguerite Egender Wendel. He was a retired self employed business owner and was of the catholic faith.

Survivors are is his wife; Shirley Thompson Wenzel of the home. Six children; Michael S. Wenzel of Kansas City, Missouri, Debra S. Tharp of Blue Springs, Mo., Denise M. Tomlinson of Raytown, Mo., Dayna A. Gosnell of Independence, Mo., Diana K. Carollo of Lee’s Summit, Mo. and Mark R. Wenzel of Independence, Mo. 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until services time at 11:30 AM in the church.
