James Daniel Boone, age 84, of Willard, MO, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Mercy Hospital. He was born November 3, 1927, in Houston, TX, to John Frank and Martha Marie (Six) Boone.

He proudly served his country during WWII in the Merchant Marines and United States Navy and ultimately retired from the United States Air Force in 1969.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Boone and his parents.

Surviving are his children, James Boone, Jr., of Wichita, KS, John Boone of Valdosta, GA, Joe Boone of Phoenix, AZ, Linda Moore of Willard, MO, Mike Cook of Wichita, KS, Darrell Cook of Wichita, KS, and Sharon Jones of Wichita, KS; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Inurnment with full military honors will be held at a later date.
